Announcement no. 02

logistics expands sweden-italy services

To further develop DFDS' logistics services between Sweden and Italy, DFDS has acquired 100% of the share capital of the Swedish company Italcargo AB.

"The acquisition of Italcargo expands DFDS' existing logistics services between Sweden and Italy, particularly enhancing our part load and premium services," says Niklas Andersson, Head of Logistics in Sweden.
Since 1998, Italcargo has provided road transport services between Sweden and Italy, including full loads, part loads and premium services. Equipment, mainly trailers, is leased and haulage is subcontracted to external drivers.

Italcargo's revenue was SEK 65m (DKK 50m) in 2015/2016 and the company has five employees.

Strategic fit
Italcargo's activities complements and strengthens DFDS' existing transport services between Sweden and Italy. Increased flows will particularly benefit the offering to customers of part load services and Italcargo's express services fits with the aim of offering more premium customer services.

The acquisition is expected to support DFDS' goal of a 10% return on invested capital from the outset.

The transaction has accounting effect from 21 December 2016.
