Les C. Vinney Named 2016 NACD Top 100 Directors

SPR Therapeutics board member receives top honor from the National Association of Corporate Directors

CLEVELAND, Jan. 19, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) has named SPR® Therapeutics’ Board Member, Les C. Vinney, one of the top 100 most influential people in the boardroom and corporate governance community for 2016.  Each year, the NACD identifies directors, corporate governance experts, regulators, and advisors who play a significant role in shaping the greater boardroom agenda.

“Les has provided SPR with steadfast and thoughtful guidance as an active board member of our Company since its founding.  We are so fortunate to benefit from his industry knowledge and expertise as retired President, CEO and Director of STERIS Corporation as well as his multiple board experiences,” said Maria Bennett, SPR Therapeutics Founder, President and CEO.  “We’re thrilled to congratulate him on this recent honor.”

In addition to his work with SPR Therapeutics, Vinney is non-executive chairman of both Campbell Soup Company and Cleveland HeartLab and an active board member of Patterson Companies.  He has served on numerous boards throughout his career, including University Hospitals Health System of Cleveland, the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, and the Advanced Medical Device Association (AdvaMed).

The NACD’s 10th annual Directorship 100 is comprised of 100 individuals, including 50 public company directors, who exemplify knowledge, leadership, and excellence in corporate governance.  Vinney, and other honorees, were recognized in November during the 2016 NACD Directorship 100 Awards Gala in New York City.
