Kaltura Announces the Classroom of Tomorrow Virtual Summit

Summit This Spring Will Feature Speakers From the University of Chicago, Harvard Business School, and More

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - May 30, 2017) - Kaltura, the leading video technology provider (www.kaltura.com) today announced the date and line up for its annual virtual summit. Taking place on June 8, this year's summit will focus on projecting the future of education and the classroom. Registration is now open.

Building off the success of its previous Kaltura Connect Virtual Summits, this education-focused event will drill deep into a single topic: How is technology changing tomorrow's classroom. What will tomorrow's classroom look like? What will education look like in the future? And will there even be a classroom at all?

The event will feature a debate on the topic among leaders in education, as they address the changes that technology and social forces are making on the classroom and discuss how schools can prepare themselves for the shifts to come.

Rick Kamal, Chief Technology Officer, Harvard Business School, HBX stated: "I think that there will be many varieties of "what the classroom is". There will be some that are more traditional, some that are blended, some that will have no physical presence whatsoever."

"I think that the classroom of tomorrow is going to look very different for different kinds of institutions and different kinds of disciplines, and that it can help us address certain kinds of challenges and not others," said David Nirenberg, Dean of the Division of the Social Sciences, University of Chicago.

The event will conclude with a virtual field trip to Indiana University, who is pushing the boundaries of what a classroom can be. Participants will see how the school is using video and other technologies to reshape the way classrooms are laid out and used, for a cutting-edge educational experience.

"As students are rapidly becoming more tech savvy and video savvy, educators are looking to the future and wondering how best to engage with this generation of students. I am looking forward to discussing this topic on our panel, and hearing from education luminaries about their take on the future of education," said Michal Tsur, Kaltura Co-founder and President. "We're thrilled to be able to use our own interactive webcasting product to host this virtual event, so that we can reach a broad global audience. This will be this spring's must-attend educational event!"
