Nissan Micra Cup star drivers hosting one-of-a-kind, public track session

The first track day for Canada's favourite spec series makes for unforgettable Father's Day gift

MISSISSAUGA, ON--(Marketwired - June 07, 2017) - On June 18, JD Promotion and Compétition with the support of Total Canada, will be hosting a Nissan Micra Cup "Discovery Experience" at ICAR racetrack in Quebec. Taking place on Father's Day, this track day will provide Nissan Micra Cup and motorsport fans with the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a race car and experience the thrills of Canada's most accessible racing series.

As part of the Nissan Micra Cup "Discovery Experience," participants will be paired up with a Nissan Micra Cup driver in order to ensure a racing experience which is both exciting and safe. Total Canada's drivers including: 2015 first place champion Olivier Bédard; 2016 first place champion Xavier Coupal; and 2016 fifth place champion Valérie Limoges, will act as instructors and will teach participants how to operate the Nissan Micra Cup race cars. All three drivers graced the podium at the most recent Nissan Micra Cup race -- the Sunday of the Spring Classic at Circuit Mont Tremblant (May 28).

Following a briefing session, participants will have the opportunity to emulate the experience of the Nissan Micra Cup competitors by getting behind the wheel of a Micra Cup race car and taking it around the track. Each session will conclude with participants in the passenger seat of the legendary 2017 Nissan GT-R supercar, while their Nissan Micra Cup instructor takes them on an exciting lap of the track at full speed.

In order to participate, fans must register at http://www.micracup.com/eventregistration/ as of June 7. Only 30 spots are available. The cost is $295 plus taxes for a 20-minute on track session. All Micra Cup race cars -- including those used for the "Discovery Experience" -- feature a stock, 5-speed manual transmission.
