QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 8, 2017) - Nine social housing projects now have funding to complete the necessary renovations and repairs to their properties. They will benefit from a contribution of more than $520,000. Investing in the renovation and repair of affordable housing projects in the Québec area will improve the overall well-being of families and the community.
The Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and Minister Responsible for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) and Member of Parliament for Québec, made the announcement today.
Each project requires various renovations and updates, including such things as masonry, brickwork, foundation work, the updating of electrical systems, painting, railing repair and the sealing of doors and windows. The nine projects that will benefit from the government's contribution are the following:
