VideoAmp to Host Provocative Panel "The Golden Age of TV in a Digital Age" During Cannes Lions Festival

Private Event To Feature Several Leading Industry Advanced Advertising Leaders from Mediaocean, NBCUniversal, Mediavest Spark, comScore, and VideoAmp; Panel Will Explore the future of the TV Upfronts and Data Enhanced TV

SANTA MONICA, CA--(Marketwired - June 14, 2017) - VideoAmp, the integrated TV operating system for advertising, has partnered with the Modern Marketing Summit (MMS), the premier event series for marketing, brands and agencies, to co-host a special invite-only panel discussion "The Golden Age of TV in a Digital Age" during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity on Wednesday, June 21st. The panel discussion will be followed by an exclusive VIP-only event aboard the MMS Yacht, Vieux Port de Cannes.

The panel discussion will cover topics including the future of the TV Upfronts and data enhanced TV, as well as a discussion on the current state of the automation of planning and buying, creative strategies across screens, and the increasing power and ambition of FANG.

The panel will feature several industry thought leaders and influencers, including:

  • Bill Wise, CEO at Mediaocean
  • Chris Wilson, EVP of National Television at comScore, Inc.
  • Denise Colella, Senior Vice President of Advanced Advertising Products and Strategy at NBCUniversal
  • Oleg Korenfeld, EVP Adtech & Platforms at Mediavest Spark
  • Jonathan Steuer, Chief Research Officer at Omnicom Media Group
  • Jay Prasad, Chief Strategy Officer at VideoAmp
  • Gayle Fuguitt, Chief of Customer Insight and Innovation at Foursquare and long time moderator for Variety

According to a recent Forrester report, there are signals that 2017 could be a bellwether year for OTT advertising. The Forrester report cites, for instance, the launch of AT&T's DirecTV Now OTT service in November 2016 that created critical mass for the "skinny TV movement" architected by DISH Network's Sling TV service. Now, there's significant corporate weight behind online ad-supported video given that AT&T is the largest pay-TV provider in the US. Additionally, a new Video Advertising Bureau report forecasts that 2017 will see nearly $1 billion in addressable advertising spend, and that number is likely to more than double by 2018.

"VideoAmp is honored to host our second annual discussion in Cannes with such an esteemed list of industry leaders, there are some hot topics right now and we expect a full boat of creative, tech, and media professionals to get into it," said Jay Prasad, Chief Strategy Officer, VideoAmp.
