Avascent Announces Tokyo Presence Headed by Toshi Nabeta

Avascent taps former Mitsubishi Corporation Senior Manager to Lead Avascent’s Japan Operations

WASHINGTON, D.C., June 16, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Avascent, the leading global aerospace, defense and government consultancy, is pleased to announce that Toshihisa (“Toshi”) Nabeta has joined the firm to launch its Japanese operations. Toshi brings deep expertise to the position with over 28 years of strategic and programmatic business development experience in Japan’s defense, aerospace, and industrial sectors.

“We are extremely pleased to have Toshi lead our day-to-day Japan operations,” said Steve Irwin, President of Avascent.  “With his experience and understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges in Japan, Toshi will help us serve our Japanese, US and European clients more effectively as they chart their own global strategies.”

Mr. Nabeta has specific defense and aerospace industry experience in the areas of space systems, C4ISR and other integrated defense systems, ballistic missile defense, cyber security, robotics, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Immediately prior to Avascent, Mr. Nabeta supported efforts to promote business innovation within the Machinery Group of Mitsubishi Corporation. Previously, Mr. Nabeta gained broad experience working with US companies while assigned to the Mitsubishi International Corporation’s Boston office for six years.

Mr. Nabeta holds an M.S. in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (currently known as the Eisenhower School) of the National Defense University of the United States and a B.A. in Commerce from Hitotsubashi University of Japan.

“I am pleased to join Avascent at this important time in the development of Japan’s Aerospace and Defense sector,” added Mr. Nabeta. “Japan has deep reservoirs of technology and talent that can help contribute to a more secure and prosperous world.”

Avascent’s Tokyo operations build on the extensive work the company has done in the region under the leadership of Steve Ganyard, President of Avascent Global Advisors. “I am excited to welcome Toshi to Avascent and to grow our ability to serve clients in Japan,” commented Mr. Ganyard, who has worked with clients across the region over the past five years on issues including aerospace, high technology, space, cyber, and public safety. Mr. Ganyard continued, “Strategically, economically, industrially and technologically, East Asia is a critical playing field and I am pleased that we are able to further strengthen our ability to serve corporate and government clients in the region and beyond.”
