Judges select TidalScale for breakthrough ability to right-size servers on the fly
CAMPBELL, CA--(Marketwired - June 20, 2017) - TidalScale, the leading provider of Software-Defined Servers that bring flexibility to modern data centers by right-sizing servers on the fly, today announced it has been named as a winner of the Red Herring Top 100 North America event, an annual showcase of North America's top technology leaders.
A panel of industry insiders, analysts and journalists selected TidalScale after conducting a series of qualifying interviews and then attending a presentation by TidalScale CEO Gary Smerdon. Smerdon spotlighted how TidalScale is enabling organizations to make more effective and efficient use of their existing servers to handle ever-changing and increasing workloads. With TidalScale's HyperKernel software, organizations can combine one or more commodity servers into a single Software-Defined Server that uses all the aggregated resources of the combined servers -- memory, CPUs, I/O and networks -- as if it was a single system. TidalScale solutions deliver in-memory performance at any scale, are self-optimizing, use standard hardware and are compatible with all applications and operating systems without any modifications.
"This is one of the most innovative and exciting groups of companies we've ever hosted at a Top 100 awards show," said Alex Vieux, chairman of Red Herring. "It's always a pleasure to come to California and see the cream of North America's tech crop. 2017 has proven to be another fine year for tech, which is now simply the economy rather than a small part of it."
The Red Herring Top 100 news follows recent recognition of TidalScale from two the world's largest and most respected market analyst firms. TidalScale was named an IDC Innovator(i) for a report on server utilization in the data center. And in May, TidalScale was named a Gartner Cool Vendor(ii) in Gartner's 2017 Cloud Computing Report.
"It's exciting to see TidalScale's disruptive technology be recognized yet again, this time as a winner of the Red Herring 100 North America award," said TidalScale CEO Gary Smerdon. "Software-Defined Servers offer a cost-effective way for more organizations to extract more value and utility from their existing data center assets, while handling even the largest workloads faster, more easily, and with greater flexibility than ever before. We thank the judges at Red Herring for recognizing that TidalScale is a transformative force for achieving the goal of a fully software-defined data center."
