Prescient Opens Second Manufacturing Facility, Moves Headquarters to North Carolina

Construction technology company expands manufacturing capabilities to supplement Colorado plant and better serve East Coast markets

DURHAM, N.C., July 12, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DURHAM, N.C. — July 12, 2017 — Prescient, a fully integrated and patented design, engineering, manufacturing and installation solution for the construction industry, is moving the company’s headquarters from Arvada, Colorado to Durham, North Carolina and opening a second manufacturing facility in nearby Mebane.

The North Carolina facility will serve clients east of the Mississippi River, while the Colorado facility will continue to serve clients in the western U.S. The company is hosting a grand opening for the new Mebane facility July 12.

Prescient’s Mebane plant began production in May and expects to eventually employ more than 200 designers, architects, project managers, installers and other employees. The Mebane facility doubles the company’s total annual capacity to nearly 11 million square feet.

The headquarters move marks an important milestone for the company, signaling Prescient’s commitment to future investment and growth throughout the U.S. This also allows Prescient to bring design, manufacturing and other business operations to the North Carolina Commerce Park, a 1,200-acre business property developed collaboratively by Alamance County with the towns of Graham and Mebane.

“We are witnessing significant growth, having doubled our revenue each year since 2013. Relocating our headquarters will allow us to expand our national footprint and better accommodate customers along the East Coast, from Maine to Miami,” said Satyen Patel, chairman and former CEO of Prescient. “While our expanded 120,000-square-foot facility in Colorado will continue to serve customers west of the Mississippi River, we believe that North Carolina, with its commitment to growing a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy, is a perfect fit with Prescient’s mission.”

The company provides the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry with a seamless process tied together with a digital thread from design to the finished product. Prescient’s innovative design platform offers a faster, greener and more cost-effective alternative than conventional building structures and is ideally suited for multi-unit mid-rise projects, including apartments, student housing, hotels and senior living. The company has projects completed or underway throughout the country in Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Texas.

“I am proud to welcome Prescient to North Carolina. Prescient joins a growing list of innovative companies attracted to our state’s exceptional talent and business climate,” said North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper. “North Carolina is a thriving place to live and do business thanks to our skilled workforce, outstanding universities and community colleges, and strong leadership in technology and manufacturing.”

The first project coming out of the new Alamance County facility will be a Northgate, a student housing facility in College Station, Texas. The 177,267 square-foot dormitory will consist of eight total levels, five of Prescient structure. For additional information about Prescient, please visit www.prescientco.com.

About Prescient

Digital Thread. The foundation for Prescient’s revolution is a standardized light gauge framing system that utilizes proprietary software applications which create a design and construction platform. Our thread connects projects from the initial architectural design through the finished building. The Prescient Digital Thread is based on a model-centric design and planning platform that liberates project stakeholders to plan better and execute better. As a result, a project is no longer a series of isolated steps with familiar breakdowns and gaps. Instead, it becomes an orderly progression through a repeatable flow, connecting developer, designers, suppliers and contractors at every step. This seamless approach means higher productivity, higher quality, fewer last-minute conflicts on site, less waste, shorter schedules and a better ROI.

Integrated Manufacturing. Prescient uses precision manufacturing technology including robotics, laser cutting systems and state-of-the-art numerically controlled flexible manufacturing systems to deliver buildings with very tight tolerances, comparable to the automotive industry. Prescient’s Digital Thread integrates planning and design with manufacturing and installation.

Established in 2012, Prescient is aiming for nothing less than a revolution in the way buildings take shape through new levels of cost efficiency, environmental sustainability and quality of outcome for all participants. Prescient’s platform ensures buildings perform better, cost less and take less time to build by employing a Digital Thread for leading-edge integrated manufacturing.

We are Prescient. And we’re rebuilding construction from the ground up.
