ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 17, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Air Force Association’s (AFA) CyberPatriot program announced today that AT&T will continue their support of the program for the seventh consecutive year.
“The Air Force Association is privileged to once again receive the strong support of AT&T and its visionary Foundation,” said Bernie Skoch, CyberPatriot National Commissioner. “AT&T's financial support, in-kind network contributions, volunteer technical mentorships of our teams, and hosting of AFA CyberCamps are in many ways the fuel behind CyberPatriot's explosive growth. It is only through AT&T's generosity and that of our other sponsors that we are able to carry on the important work of attracting America's students to education and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.”
AT&T hosted three AFA CyberCamps this year in California, Colorado and Texas.
“AT&T is proud to again be a Cyber Diamond Sponsor. We have a continuing demand for cyber experts and leaders. At AT&T, we secure more connections than any other communications provider in North America. We are excited to team up with CyberPatriot in developing those leaders,” said Colonel (USAF, Ret) Lance Spencer, AT&T Director for Air Force Strategy and Solutions.
CyberPatriot, the nation's largest and fastest growing youth cyber education program, is AFA's flagship STEM program dedicated to strengthening cyber skills among American youth. The program features the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition for high school and middle school students, AFA CyberCamps, and an Elementary School Cyber Education Initiative.
Other supporters of CyberPatriot include the Northrop Grumman Foundation, CyberPatriot's Presenting Sponsor, as well as Cyber Diamond sponsors Boeing, Cisco, Microsoft, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security; Cyber Gold sponsors Facebook, Riverside Research, Splunk, and Symantec; and Cyber Silver sponsors Air Force STEM, Air Force Reserve, American Military University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Leidos, Mastercard, and University of Maryland University College.
The Air Force Association is a non-profit, independent, professional military and aerospace education association. Our mission is to promote a dominant United States Air Force and a strong national defense, and to honor Airmen and our Air Force Heritage.
