Puppet Announces Puppet Enterprise for VMware Cloud on AWS

Puppet Enterprise accelerates migration to VMware Cloud on AWS and provides consistency and security across hybrid cloud environments

PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwired - Aug 28, 2017) - Puppet, the standard for automating the delivery and operation of the software that powers everything around us, today announced the availability of Puppet Enterprise for customers of VMware Cloud™ on AWS. Launched today with initial availability in AWS US West (Oregon) region, VMware Cloud on AWS brings together VMware's enterprise-class Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) software and elastic, bare-metal infrastructure from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to give organizations consistent operating model and application mobility for private and public cloud. Puppet Enterprise enables seamless automation, provisioning, configuration and ongoing management of both on-premise and cloud workloads to customers of VMware Cloud on AWS.

Puppet Enterprise will work with VMware Cloud (VMC) on AWS. Puppet, in collaboration with VMware, is enabling a seamless experience for customers as they migrate workloads to VMware Cloud on AWS.

"IT organizations are under increasing pressure to move faster, while still maintaining the highest levels of security and reliability. Migrating VMware virtualized workloads to the cloud is a top priority for many of our customers," said Deepak Giridharagopol, CTO, Puppet. "Puppet Enterprise provides connective tissue between the data center and VMware Cloud on AWS so joint customers can seamlessly manage hybrid environments and achieve greater application mobility."

VMware Cloud on AWS technology partners enables customers to deploy the same proven solutions seamlessly in both the public and private cloud. VMware simplifies the deployment and eliminates the need for partners to refactor solutions for VMware Cloud on AWS. If a partner solution works on-premises in a VMware vSphere® environment, it will also work in VMware Cloud on AWS. VMware technology partners complement and enhance native VMware Cloud on AWS service and enable customers to realize new capabilities.

"VMware Cloud on AWS provides customers a seamlessly integrated hybrid cloud offering that gives customers the SDDC experience from the leader in private cloud, running on the leading public cloud provider, AWS," said Mark Lohmeyer, vice president, products, Cloud Platforms Business Unit, VMware. "Solutions such as Puppet Enterprise enable IT teams to reduce cost, increase efficiency, and create operational consistency across cloud environments. We're excited to work with partners such as Puppet to enhance native VMware Cloud on AWS capabilities and empower customers with flexibility and choice in solutions that can drive business value."
