MAPRagency Debuts Revamped Headquarters and Raises More Than $1K for Electronic Frontier Foundation

Special guest Congressman Jared Polis provided an overview of his gubernatorial run at the Boulder-based communication firm’s open house

BOULDER, Sept. 06, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MAPRagency (MAPR), a technology public relations and digital marketing agency, announced today a $1,050 donation to support the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), the leading nonprofit organization defending civil liberties in the digital world. The donation was raised through a silent auction at MAPR’s open house at their remodeled headquarters.

The event also featured a conversation with legendary Colorado entrepreneur Congressman Jared Polis, who discussed his platform and goals for his Colorado governor candidacy in the 2018 election.

“We were thrilled that Congressman Polis was able to join us as we hosted our friends and clients for a wonderful evening of great fun and great conversation,” said Doyle Albee, MAPR president and CEO. “Our open house was also an opportunity for us to give back to an  outstanding organization like EFF that advocates for matters that affect everyone, including net neutrality, user privacy and the development of innovative technologies.”

Electronic Frontier Foundation champions user privacy, free expression and innovation through impact litigation, policy analysis, grassroots activism and technology development. As the use of technology grows, the foundation works to ensure that our rights and freedoms are enhanced and protected. The organization understands that protecting access to developing technology is key to advancing freedom for all.

"It always means a lot to hear about fundraisers like this,” said Maggie Kazmierczak, EFF membership coordinator. “This donation will help us do our core work: educating the public, building and maintaining tech tools, and fighting in court to protect privacy and free speech for all. We can't tell you how much we appreciate the support."

The EFF auction was supported by generous donations from various members of the community, including Cody Kluck, BJ's Brewhouse; Will Doerrman, Under the Sun; Andy Minden, Ramble on Pearl; Sean Maher, Downtown Boulder Partnership; Tess McFadden, Boulder Beer; Joshua Spencer, Peak Conditioning and Fitness; Glenn Knippenberg, AC Golden Brewing; Edward DeValle, on behalf of Fundación De Valle (fundaciondevalle.org); and Energizer Solar.
