Jeffrey Bryson named acting president and CEO of NeighborWorks America

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - September 08, 2017) - NeighborWorks America Board of Directors announced today that Jeffrey Bryson will serve as acting president and chief executive officer following the Board's acceptance of Paul Weech's resignation.

Bryson has been executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of NeighborWorks America since May 1991. In that dual role he provides advice and counsel to the organization's directors, officers and managers on a wide range of legal issues affecting the organization's operational and programmatic activities, judicial and quasi-judicial forums. He also maintains the official books and records of the organization.

Since being hired in 1987 as corporate attorney, Bryson moved quickly up the ranks at NeighborWorks, being promoted to deputy general counsel in 1988; acting general counsel in 1989; and to his current position two years later, in May 1991.

"We are grateful that Jeff has agreed to serve in this role. Jeff is well respected and has great judgment," said Grovetta N. Gardineer, chair of the NeighborWorks America Board of Directors. "He has a deep commitment to the mission of NeighborWorks America. His 30-year tenure, including his service as general counsel and an officer of the organization, provides continuity and stability."

"I'm honored to be selected by the Board at this time to lead NeighborWorks America," said Bryson. "The staff of NeighborWorks America and the NeighborWorks network are committed to helping the people and the communities in which they live to thrive. All of us remain focused on delivering solutions that create economic opportunity for everyone."
