Aktia’s process for renewal continues with a new model of operations. Codetermination negotiations with the personnel at Aktia Bank plc and Aktia Life Insurance Ltd, started 4 September 2017, were concluded 22 September 2017.
In the future, Aktia will provide services at 32 customer service units, of which 10 units will be competence centres. The renewal has been discussed with representatives of the staff during the codetermination negotiations.
The regional competence centres are going to focus on advanced customer advice and proactive sales. The following Aktia branches will be competence centres in the future: Karjaa, Espoo Tapiola, Helsinki Kolme Seppää, Vantaa Tikkurila, Porvoo, Turku, Tampere, Pietarsaari, Vaasa Torikonttori and Oulu. The competence centres will also support other branches in respective area.
Within the branch network of Aktia, a total of 10 branches will be merged with nearby branches.
- We will maintain a geographically comprehensive network of branches and increase our customer service by further increasing accessibility and product offering for example in our digital channels. For banking services, the demand for individual services is increasing, and the need for traditional banking services is decreasing. These changes are made in order to be able to meet new demands. With the renewal we will strengthen our specialist organisation in order to give our customers a more qualified and tailored service and product offering, says Martin Backman, President & CEO of Aktia.
The branches to be merged with nearby branches are Espoon Keskus, Espoonlahti, Tenhola, Bromarf, Itäkeskus, Kannelmäki, Kerava, Sulva, Oravainen and Uusikaarlepyy. The changes in the branch network will be made gradually, and the branches will be closed during 2017.
Following the codetermination negotiations approx. 160 new job opportunities will be opened in the bank, and approx. 260 of the present jobs will end.
- We expect that for the most part of the new job opportunities, we will find competent staff among our current employees, Backman continues.
