Krystal and Blendtec Achieve GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the Largest frozen beverage


NASHVILLE, Tennessee, Sept. 26, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Tennessee State Fair was whirring and buzzing with excitement September 9 as Krystal®, Blendtec® and vendor partners achieved a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the Largest Frozen Beverage, a 966-liter (255-gallon) Kool-Aid® Green Apple Slushie.

Krystal earned the designation, thanks to its partners including Blendtec, manufacturer of the world’s safest and most advanced high-speed blenders, Kool-Aid®, Proforma® and the Tennessee State Fair, to set the frozen beverage record.

Ten Blendtec blenders and 30 blending jars mixed the perfect combination of icy refreshment on the opening Saturday of the state fair. In just 80 minutes it took more than 50 volunteers nearly 900 blending cycles and nearly a half ton of ice to blend all 966.1 liters of the slushie.

Planning for the supersized world record began in early 2017 and involved hundreds of engineering and product quality experts and volunteers. The FDA-regulated 1018.28-liter container even traveled across state lines from Georgia to Tennessee.
