Deltek Insight 2017 to Provide Support for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and U.K. Nonprofits

The Nashville event will connect attendees with several ways to give support to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, MIND and Spinal Research

Nashville, TN, Oct. 23, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Deltek, the leading global provider of enterprise software and information solutions for project-based businesses, announced today at Deltek Insight 2017 that it will be supporting several charities during its award-winning user conference, being held October 23-26 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Deltek has invited Therapy ARC, a Tennessee-based nonprofit that provides animal-assisted activity and therapy services, to bring dogs to the conference for attendees to interact with. Additionally, Deltek is providing opportunities for Deltek employees and conference attendees to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and two U.K. nonprofits – MIND and Spinal Research:

  • St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – Insight attendees will have the opportunity to provide hands-on support for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is located in Memphis, Tennessee. During a reception at the Insight Expo on Tuesday, October 24, attendees will be able to assemble confetti bags for use at the hospital’s “No Mo Chemo” parties – which celebrate the end of a child’s chemotherapy treatment – and create craft kits, to offer patients and families a welcome distraction while at the hospital. Deltek’s goal is to fill 3,000 bags and create 1,000 craft kits.
  • U.K. Nonprofits MIND and Spinal Research – Deltek Insight will also host The Four Oarsmen, a team of four rowers – including include George Biggar, Pete Robinson, Dicky Taylor, and Deltek employee Stuart Watts  – who will be participating in the 2017 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, which kicks off in December. The Four Oarsmen will row more than 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean in the world’s toughest row to raise funds to benefit MIND, a U.K. nonprofit that advises and supports those experiencing mental illness, and Spinal Research, the U.K.’s leading charity funding medical research to develop effective treatments for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury. While at Insight, The Four Oarsmen will train on stationary rowing machines for 24 hours. Insight attendees will be encouraged to participate in this event by rowing alongside the men and making online donations. Deltek will match each dollar donated by attendees to these causes.
