The IEA would like to invite you to an embargoed press webinar for the launch of the World Energy Outlook 2017, with Laura Cozzi, head of the IEA's Energy Demand Outlook Division, and Tim Gould, head of the IEA's Energy Supply Outlook Division. The webinar will be held at 3:00 PM Paris time on Monday, 13 November.
The IEA's flagship, the World Energy Outlook provides a full update of energy demand and supply projections to 2040 based on different scenarios. The projections are accompanied by detailed analyses of their impact on energy industries and investment, as well as implications for energy security and the environment.
This year, WEO 2017 includes a focus on China, examining how its choices could reshape the global outlook for all fuels and technologies, and a focus on natural gas, exploring how the rise of shale gas and LNG are changing the global gas market as well as the opportunities and risks for gas in the transition to a cleaner energy system.
WEO 2017 also introduces a new scenario - the Sustainable Development Scenario - that outlines an integrated approach to achieving internationally agreed objectives on climate change, air quality, and universal access to modern energy.
To register for the webinar, please email press@iea.org.
The webinar and all related materials will be under embargo until 1 AM Paris time, 14 November.
Please note, the IEA is also organizing a press conference at 10-11 Carlton House Terrace, London on Tuesday 14 November, at 10 AM. Those interested in attending should also email press@iea.org.
About the IEA: The International Energy Agency, the global energy authority, was founded in 1974 to help its member countries co-ordinate a collective response to major oil supply disruptions. Its mission has evolved and rests today on three main pillars: working to ensure global energy security; expanding energy cooperation and dialogue around the world; and promoting an environmentally sustainable energy future.
