PeakMed Adds Mental Health Services, Technology and Expands Clinic in Colorado Springs

PeakMed increases size of flagship LifeCenter and partners with AllHealth Network to provide integrated behavioral health care for members

Colorado Springs, CO, Jan. 24, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- PeakMed, a company that provides family practice medicine using an affordable monthly-membership model that doesn’t bill insurance, announced today its newly expanded Tutt LifeCenter in Colorado Springs will launch a partnership with AllHealth Network. The collaboration provides integrated behavioral health appointments, which include mental health services, with a licensed behavioral health clinician.

“Health care is about treating the whole person, both mentally and physically, which leads to better patient outcomes,” said Dr. Mark Tomasulo, founder and chief medical officer of PeakMed. “We are honored to be able to offer mental health care to our portfolio of member services.”

In addition to new services, PeakMed has also expanded the flagship LifeCenter on Tutt Boulevard in Colorado Springs, which has nearly doubled in size to 6,000 square feet. This expansion helps accommodate the growing need for PeakMed’s service in the Colorado Springs community. With this expansion comes new technology. PeakMed is rolling out drchrono, a new electronic medical records program, as well as CirrusMD, a telemedicine platform allowing for text-based, HIPAA-compliant communication between PeakMed providers and members.

PeakMed is leading the direct primary care movement in Colorado and across the country. The model, which is available in 21 states, allows for unlimited interactions with your provider through a monthly membership, which eliminates copays and deductibles that come with health insurance. PeakMed has two LifeCenters in Colorado Springs and one LifeCenter in Englewood. PeakMed also has two mobile LifeCenters that service the Denver and Colorado Springs areas. Both markets will each see a new brick-and-mortar LifeCenter come online in early 2018.

“Our goal is to deliver true innovation by vertically integrating our medical services and utilizing the best technology solutions available, while completely removing ourselves from conveyor-belt medicine,” Jon Hernandez, CEO of PeakMed said. “PeakMed’s expansion on mental health services as well as the addition of new physical locations are the result of our members’ excitement and belief in what we are doing to change the way health and care are being delivered in Colorado.”

The expanded Tutt LifeCenter is now open and the integrated behavioral health and technology services are available at that location and will be added to other LifeCenters later in 2019.
