Christian Lacroix Solves Complex Online Marketplace Launch With Go.Borderlinx

Go.Borderlinx, the leading international e-commerce solution provider, brings Christian Lacroix to shoppers in over 65 countries

New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Feb. 13, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Luxury fashion brand Christian Lacroix has chosen Go.Borderlinx’s Hub-in-a-Box (HiaB) solution to manage customer orders worldwide, including direct-to-customer shipping from fulfillment centers across the United States and Europe.

As part of its 30-year anniversary celebration, Christian Lacroix launched its first direct-to-consumer online marketplace in late 2017. One of the key elements in the setup of its e-commerce initiative was to organize a complex fulfillment model requiring products to ship from a number of international fulfillment centers. Customs duty and tax calculation, specifically with orders containing multiple items shipping from separate countries, requires a specialized algorithm to combine each item’s duty, tax and shipping cost into one Total Landed Cost calculation for the customer.

“The launch of our online e-commerce platform required the connectivity of multiple technology partners to be able to sell to customers around the world from distribution centers located in multiple countries,” said Nicolas Topiol CEO of Christian Lacroix. “Go.Borderlinx was the only cross-border partner that could support our fulfillment complexity.”

To support Christian Lacroix’s multi-country fulfillment, Go.Borderlinx’s HiaB solution integrates into the brand’s existing checkout where customs duty and tax of every product is combined into a single destination calculation. Go.Borderlinx’s HiaB also lets Christian Lacroix collect customs duty and tax at checkout so that orders can ship to customers without surprise fees upon delivery (known as Delivered Duty Paid or DDP). These features let Christian Lacroix mitigate compliance issues at Customs checkpoints to ensure customers receive their orders on time.

Additionally, Christian Lacroix can maintain control of its entire operation with direct-to-customer delivery. Go.Borderlinx’s HiaB is the only cross-border solution that allows retailers to manage both international and domestic orders on-site, giving each of Christian Lacroix’s partner-owned fulfillment centers the tools to create customs papers and shipping labels on their own. By skipping the extra delivery step, the brand can offer customers faster delivery without increased time or cost.

“Complex fulfillment models don’t have to hold down retailers from reaching their potential in new markets,” said Go.Borderlinx COO Yves Languepin. “Business needs change rapidly, and that’s why our solutions can be adjusted to fit retailer goals without complicating their existing checkout, fulfillment or shipping setup.”

Go.Borderlinx, in partnership with Colorz, was able to quickly integrate with Christian Lacroix’s Magento and Mirakl platforms.
