Hemp, Inc. Subsidiary Hemp University Establishes Cultivation Facility Consulting Division to Meet Market Demand in North Carolina

SPRING HOPE, NC, Feb. 16, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP), a global leader in the industrial hemp industry with the largest hemp mill in the western hemisphere, announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary Hemp University, LLC has established a cultivation consulting division to further the University’s mission to help landowners and farmers incorporate hemp into their crop rotation.

Hemp University’s consulting division, Hemp University Grow, focuses on the development of grow room facilities, greenhouses, outdoor hemp farming and cannabidiol (CBD) extraction operations. Known as the Mastery Grow Team, this select group of hemp growers receive the advantage of numerous operational synergies and resource sharing.  Hemp University’s expert staff help prevent growers from costly mistakes and imbalances that can reduce yield, quality, and consistency.

Hemp University identified a need for a consulting division following their first major education symposium event in March 2017. In 2017, the first year hemp was legal to grow in North Carolina, Hemp University hosted five sold-out symposiums in northeast North Carolina with a total of more than 800 attendees.

“Many attendees of our educational symposiums are looking to add a new viable and profitable income stream by maximizing their per-acre crop revenue,” said Hemp University, LLC President Rick Rainbolt. “Since our team of experts began fielding inquiries for consulting services last year, we have successfully consulted on developing nine Indoor and greenhouse growing facilities. Small mistakes can cost a substantial amount of money and can be avoided with proper training. We accompany growers from developing strategic objectives all the way to successful and sustainable implementation, regardless of whether they are new to the hemp industry or just want to enhance their existing product range.”

“Hemp University allows organic business relationships to flourish proving a breeding ground for new growth within the industry,” said Hemp, Inc. CEO Bruce Perlowin. “Hemp University Grow was an obvious next step of expansion for the University to continue its role on the frontlines of this rapidly growing industry.”

INDUSTRIAL HEMP IN THE NEWS

Indiana: The Indiana House voted for a bill, early this month, that would allow farmers in Indiana to legally grow industrial hemp.  Rep. Jim Lucas’ bill HB 1137, would allow Hoosier farmers to grow the low-THC substance on their family farms. The fight over this controversial bill involving industrial hemp resumed yesterday in the Indiana Senate.  Senators on the Senate Commerce and Technology Committee signaled their support for the bill, but it wasn’t a clean sweep.  Several people testified before the committee. Some said they don’t want Indiana to miss out on what could be a multimillion-dollar hemp industry.  State Rep. Jim Lucas, a Republican from Seymour, said, “HB (House Bill) 1137 opens up an entirely new industry here in Indiana,” by allowing Hoosier farmers to grow hemp and make hemp products.  In the end, the committee voted 8-3 on the bill. It now goes to the full Senate. To read the latest update on HB 1137 as of 2/15/18, click here.
