Craig McConnon of the Craig McConnon Group is pleased to announce that his company is in discussions to take over 3 new venues in Sheffield, Leeds and Liverpool as part of their growing expansion plans. Talks are in the very early stages and if successful, this will add 3 additional locations in addition to the other venues they work from. Starting out in London, the group has grown and grown in strength over the last few months.
Craig McConnon added “It’s a great feeling expanding and I always have to be sure about new venues we are bringing on board. I personally visit every new potential venue and at the moment, we are being offered over ten new venues every week as possibilities. I am very particular in terms of what we are looking for – it has be the right size, it needs to have the right feel and most importantly I need to feel the energy. Having a great DJ means nothing unless you have that right venue and I feel this makes or breaks the event you are DJing at. The three new venues that we are in discussions all seem perfect for our team and I am hopeful that we will be able to add them to portfolio soon”.
Craig McConnon and his team mainly DJ in and around London but are able to cover some locations outside London as well. They have a team of over 20 within the team and they have plans to expand further too. More recently, the group hired two new management executives which meant that this could relieve Craig McConnon of his day to day roles and it means that Craig can stick to what he does best.
Craig McConnon added “We want to keep growing and growing, and the plan for the future is to secure locations all across the UK. I feel very attached to the UK after such a long time away DJing across the world and the UK is my home. Its extremely hard adding new locations as we typically only go for 1-2 new locations from every 15-20 that we see, so it is a tedious process. I try to put my DJ commitments first so its very hard making the time to view new locations and eventually I want to create a special management team who can effectively do an initial visit of a new location and if they like it, then I will see it for the second time. This will save me a lot of time moving forward”.
The two most recent locations added were Leicester and Nottingham and the Craig McConnon Group already has a number of booking at both of these new events. These two new events took over 6 months to secure but they have both been very popular and there is a lot of demand already. The location in Leicester is actually sold out until the end of August and Nottingham still has a few slots left but has booked most of its slots too.
Craig McConnon concluded “I am hopeful that we can add Sheffield, Leeds and Liverpool locations to Leicester and Nottingham that we have recently acquired. Discussions are still at the very earlier stages but I am hopeful that we will be able to secure these locations. These new locations have been visited over 5 times to ensure that our team is happy with them and I feel they will be a great addition to our portfolio. I want to keep adding more locations to our portfolio”.
The Craig McConnon Group also has plans to increase the number of DJs on board too and the group plans to hire local DJs within these new locations and to start with Craig McConnon would travel and monitor all gigs. Eventually the long term plan is to have more and more venues across the UK and to have local DJs and local lighting technicians who would then cover each local event.
