Udemy Ranked #1 “Best Place to Work in the Bay Area”

San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley Business Journal Name Udemy Number One in Annual Awards of Bay Area Large Businesses

SAN FRANCISCO, April 23, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Udemy, the global marketplace for learning and teaching online, today announced it ranked number one large business in the annual “Best Places to Work in the Bay Area” awards given by the San Francisco Business Times and the Silicon Valley Business Journal. The award recognizes Bay Area companies that have strong company cultures, invest in their employees, and maintain high levels of employee satisfaction. This is the fourth year Udemy has been recognized as a “Best Place to Work in the Bay Area”.

Udemy’s mission is to improve lives through learning, and that journey begins with its employees. Udemy is dedicated to supporting employee growth and development through access to a variety of learning opportunities, including unlimited free courses on the platform, monthly “DEAL” hours during which employees are encouraged to “drop everything and learn,” as well as group learning opportunities. Udemy strives to instill a learning mindset in its employees to ensure they are truly living the company's mission.

“Our employees are the reason for Udemy’s continued success. For us, building a great place to work begins with a learning culture, and that's why we've prioritized investments in our employees' well-being and development,” says Udemy CEO Kevin H. Johnson. “We are thrilled that our employees value these benefits, and we are proud to be recognized alongside other great companies in the Bay Area."

Applicants were grouped into five different categories according to Bay Area headcount, and winners were announced at an awards ceremony on April 18, 2018. Winners were selected based on how employees rate their companies on values such as team collaboration, compensation and benefits, and management practices. Udemy was ranked first in the large companies category.
