Need A Little Inspiration?
In a national online survey commissioned by Brookside Chocolate1, women ages 45 and older revealed the daring and bold moves they wanted to make in their careers, social life, travel and skill sets this year. Some of the top responses were unexpected for this age group, but it’s no surprise considering nearly one in three (30%) said they don’t let their age define them.

The top daring items women noted on their own “Ballsy Lists” included:

  • Take a road trip (61%)
  • Learn a new skill or craft (43%)
  • Learn a new language (25%)
  • Travel solo (19%)
  • Start a new business (18%)
  • Learn to code (10%)

“Our most loyal fans are women who aren’t defined by age and aren’t afraid to try something new. And we get it. Even after 50 years, the Brookside brand still isn’t done evolving and perfecting our chocolate,” said Kriston Ohm Senior Brand Manager of Brookside Chocolate. “That’s why we’re proud to support women making daring, bold and ballsy moves by helping them take the first step in their new journey through The Ballsy List contest.”

With 72 percent of women noting they would feel more fulfilled if they accomplished something that piqued their interest in the next 12 months, Brookside is eager to support women making daring moves not only for themselves but for their daughters, too. Nearly 90 percent believed it is important to inspire their daughters to be bold by example, especially because more than half (56%) couldn’t remember their own mothers doing something bold that left a positive, lasting impression.

The announcement follows the launch of the “That’s Ballsy” campaign, which champions women in not defining themselves by age or experience when trying new things. For more inspiration from the campaign, visit www.BrooksideChocolate.com/ThatsBallsy.
