Lug Opens First Retail Store in Baltimore-Washington International Airport

BALTIMORE, June 08, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lug, the popular lifestyle brand of stylish and functional bags and accessories, opens its first retail store today in Concourse D of Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport.

The 1,290-square-foot store is designed around the brand’s iconic vibrant colors and prints. In each corner of the store, touch screen kiosks offer an interactive experience for travelers looking for fun and functional gear to touch, feel and see bags in different colors and prints.

Lug knows the ins and out of travel and wanted to provide thirsty travelers with a convenient and complimentary way to stay hydrated, so there is a water station located in the store. It sits next to a display of the brand’s colorful water bottles, which come in a variety of Lug’s signature colors and prints.

The BWI Lug store has partnered with local charities as part of its Bag Exchange program. Customers who donate their gently used bags or wallets, receive 10% off new purchases and the used bags and wallets are donated to local charities.

Founded in 2005 by Ami and Jason Richter, Lug was created with the simple goal of freshening up the travel bag and accessory market with fun, functional and colorful designs by creating bags and accessories for savvy globetrotters.

It wasn’t long before Oprah became a Lug fan, and over the next four years, Lug’s signature Puddle Jumper overnight bag, NapSac pillow and blanket, Cartwheel overnight bag, and Clearview Circle tote were featured on the coveted “O List” in O, The Oprah Magazine.

In 2015, Lug joined QVC, where its products are featured in broadcasts that reach over 100 million American households. In 2017, Lug received the QVC Star Award for Merchandising Excellence.

Lug has also been chosen for numerous Award Shows and Galas, most recently as the official Bag of the Golden Globes in 2017, and the official Bag of the 2018 SAG Awards Gala.

“We are flying high with excitement over our first-ever retail store — and by design, it is in an airport, where we can personally interact with individuals and families to help them travel with style and function to destinations around the world,” said Jason Richter.
