Nomadix Announces GDPR Compliance for Entire Product Line

Assures Data Protection Globally in Accordance with New Mandate

HOUSTON, June 20, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- HITEC, Booth #1615 -- Nomadix Inc., the innovator and pioneer of public access gateways, has announced that its entire range of products is in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) mandate that became effective May 25, 2018. This includes Nomadix’s full line of gateway products, its Alloc8 deep packet inspection appliances, all services associated with existing products, as well as a commitment to ensuring that future products and services will remain in compliance.

GDPR replaces the 1995 EU Data Protection Directive. The new mandate unifies the data protection rules across Europe and strengthens the rights of EU citizens by emphasizing transparency, fairness and accountability. GDPR compliance affects all businesses, regardless of location, that do business with the EU or citizens of the EU.

“Nomadix takes data protection and privacy very seriously,” said Nomadix President Fred Reeder. “As such, we continuously update our products to ensure the protection of personal data. With the announcement that all our products and services are GDPR-compliant, our partners and customers have the added assurance that Nomadix products are secure and meet the data protection regulatory requirements that preserve the rights of EU citizens, thus giving our partners an added way to get their businesses compliant.”

A significant component of Nomadix’s compliance with GDPR revolves around data for both customers and subscribers. All customer data is stored on secure systems owned or operated by Nomadix or its service vendors. Nomadix has also amended, eliminated or minimized the collection of personal information – and the company does not send marketing materials to individuals who have shared business cards with Nomadix employees. For subscribers, Nomadix does not transmit any subscriber data to its servers without prior written consent. Nomadix also now requires an additional GDPR agreement from its system integrators and customers before it can process any support data that might contain subscribers’ personal information.

Concludes Reeder, “The penalties for those who fail to comply with GDPR are significant. Fines can be €20M or 4 percent of revenue, whichever is greater. Our customers and partners can rest assured that Nomadix is and always will be committed to making data security a top priority, and that we will comply with mandatory privacy laws worldwide, including GDPR.”
