Greenbrook TMS NeuroHealth Centers Open in St. Louis Metro Area

Leading provider of TMS Therapy marks Greenbrook’s expansion into Midwest Region

MCLEAN, Va., June 21, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Greenbrook TMS NeuroHealth Centers, the nation’s largest and most experienced provider of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS Therapy) to patients suffering with treatment-resistant depression, is pleased to announce that it is now providing TMS Therapy to patients in the St. Louis community.  Led by Greenbrook’s Regional Medical Director, Steven Harvey, M.D., Greenbrook TMS has centers now opened in Chesterfield, Creve Coeur and Ladue, with additional locations to open later this year.

Bill Leonard, Greenbrook’s President & CEO comments, “We welcome Dr. Steven Harvey to Greenbrook and are excited about the breadth of experience in TMS he brings as well as his shared mission of providing excellence in patient care.  Dr. Harvey will provide the clinical leadership throughout our expansion in the Midwest.”

Dr. Harvey adds, “I’ve been providing TMS since 2013, and I’m consistently impressed with its efficacy for depression when other treatments have failed.  Working with Greenbrook to expand the availability of TMS in the St. Louis area is an ideal partnership so that we can deliver this treatment option to more of the people who need it, in the community where I live.”

“TMS is a breakthrough therapy that has changed the paradigm of how we approach the treatment of depression,” said Chief Medical Officer of Greenbrook, Geoffrey Grammer, M.D.

TMS is an FDA-cleared, non-drug, non-sedating, non-invasive medical treatment for patients diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder who are not improving with antidepressant medications or cannot tolerate their side-effects.  TMS can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with medication. TMS uses magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain known to control mood which have been identified as underactive in people diagnosed with depression. A typical treatment course is 36 sessions, administered 5 days a week for 4-6 weeks when depression is in its acute phase.
