Shipt Launches Same-Day Delivery in Greater New York City Metro


Membership-based service to launch same-day delivery from Target in Hudson Valley, Kingston, Long Island, Mount Kisco and White Plains, New York

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., July 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Shipt, a leading online delivery marketplace, and Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT), today announced they will begin same-day delivery of more than 55,000 groceries, essentials, home, electronics, toys and other products to the Greater New York City metro. Delivery from Shipt and Target will begin from the following areas:

  • July 31: Hudson Valley and Kingston, New York
  • August 7: Long Island, New York
  • August 9: Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island, New York
  • August 14: Mount Kisco and White Plains, New York

This announcement builds upon Shipt’s recent growth into Upstate New York in June. Cumulatively, this landmark expansion gives more than 1.3 million households across New York City and surrounding areas access to products delivered by Shipt in as little as one hour. To celebrate the announcement, new Shipt members who sign up before August 14 will receive an annual membership for $49 (regularly $99).

Through this partnership, Target plans to offer convenient, same-day delivery of the in-store assortment of groceries, essentials, home, electronics, toys and other products from the majority of its stores by the 2018 holiday season. By the end of the year, the service will be available to 65 percent of U.S. households across 180 markets, reaching a total of 80 million households, and in 2019, same-day delivery will expand to include all major product categories at Target.
