- Nissan has contributed more than $15.5 million to Habitat nationally since 2005
- 2018 donation funds home builds in 12 communities where Nissan employees live and work

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Aug. 01, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Nissan North America continues its long-standing partnership with Habitat for Humanity with a $1 million donation to help build affordable, homes in partnership with families in need of decent housing. Nissan’s contributions to Habitat for Humanity in North America amount to more than $15.5 million over the past 13 years.

The majority of Nissan’s 2018 donation will go toward the building costs of Habitat homes in locations where Nissan has an operational presence, for vehicle purchases for use by local Habitat organizations and sponsorship of the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project.

Nissan Home Dedications
On July 18, Nissan Canton dedicated its 11th home built with Habitat for Humanity Mississippi Capital Area in Jackson. Nearly 100 Nissan employees volunteered to help build a house alongside the Trotter family.
Nissan Smyrna employees dedicated a new Habitat home to homeowner Elexcia and her family on July 12. This marks the 12th Nissan Habitat home constructed in Rutherford County. Nissan also presented Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity with a brand-new NV3500 cargo van, its third vehicle donation to the organization.
Nissan’s partnership with Habitat began in 2005 to support recovery efforts after hurricanes Katrina and Rita damaged the Gulf Coast region. Nissan donated 50 trucks and mobilized employees to assist in home building. Since 2006, Nissan has donated an additional 96 vehicles and Nissan’s employees have logged nearly 100,000 volunteer hours with Habitat for Humanity, building 86 homes across the United States.
