DAVENPORT, Iowa, Aug. 01, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tyson Cobb, MD, an orthopaedic hand surgeon in the Quad Cities, was announced as the next President of the European Wrist Arthroscopy Society (EWAS), an international organization dedicated to advancing the benefits, results, and safety of hand surgery, particularly with regard to minimally invasive techniques.
The role of President is demanding, and Dr. Cobb will be expected to serve as the face of the diverse and extensively trained group of surgeons, who hail from 65 different countries. He will also take part in meetings, which this year are scheduled to occur in Beijing, Russia, The Netherlands, USA, Brazil, and other far-flung locales. At these conferences, Dr. Cobb and his peers discuss the latest news in wrist arthroscopy, as well as lecture on innovative improvements in surgical technique. “I look forward to not only what I can contribute to the EWAS,” Dr. Cobb noted, “but also to the insight and knowledge I will gain for my own patients.”
