Arcadis and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Team Up to Address Environmental Cleanup Projects

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo., Aug. 07, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Arcadis today announced it was selected for two environmental Architect-Engineer (AE) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contracts with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to conduct environmental clean-up and restoration efforts in key areas across the country.

One contract is with the USACE Baltimore District for work in the USACE’s North Atlantic Division, which includes areas from Virginia up to Maine. The other, with the USACE Kansas City District, includes work in the Northwestern Division (including the Omaha and Seattle Districts) as well as Environmental Protection Agency Region 2. The combined capacity of these two contracts is $255 million and will be shared by a group of 14 contract holders.

Arcadis has a decades-long history of partnering with the USACE to support its mission to effectively address environmental challenges across the country and provide proper remediation. As part of the engagement, Arcadis will provide technical resources to support environmental site investigation and the engineering design of innovative environmental cleanups on projects.  This includes safely identifying and remediating hazardous, toxic, and radiological waste across sites. Arcadis’ scope includes addressing human health and environmental risks through engineering evaluations, sampling and analysis, and remedial or removal actions.

“This win reflects Arcadis’ ongoing commitment to improve the quality of life in the communities it operates in, as well as our deep commitment to USACE in helping it address environmental needs nationwide,” said Tom Rose, senior vice president and federal programs director, Arcadis. “We are honored that the Corps has chosen us to support this effort.”

For years Arcadis has provided comprehensive planning, program management, design and construction services at active and Base Realignment and Closure installations, formerly used defense sites and other Department of Defense sites nationwide for hazardous, toxic, and radioactive waste, environmental and military munitions.

The company is currently ranked No. 1 in Engineering News-Record’s list of Top Hazardous Waste Firms.
