StarVR Forges Powerful Alliances in the Asia Pacific Region to Further the Adoption of Premium VR in Aviation and Aerospace

StarVR partners with leading aviation application service provider and systems integrator Avic Vision

The company also joins the Industry of Virtual Reality Alliance to actively promote VR applications in aerospace

TAIPEI, Taiwan, Aug. 23, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- StarVR® (TWSE: 6681), the leader in premium virtual reality (VR) for the enterprise, today announced it has partnered with Avic Vision (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd., a leading VR application service provider, with the goal of expanding use of advanced commercial VR solutions in the aviation and aerospace industry.

Avic Vision is part of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) -- a diversified state-owned aerospace and defense company, headquartered in Beijing. Avic Vision will serve as an agent, distributor and system integrator for StarVR in the Greater China market. Both companies shall offer comprehensive premium professional VR solutions to aerospace clients through joint investment in aviation and spaceflight simulation, smart manufacturing simulation, and high-end entertainment systems.

Based on a shared market vision, technology development roadmap and establishment of a strong supply chain, both companies seek to raise the bar for premium VR adoption to jointly accelerate growth in this industry.

With a focus on enterprise and commercial applications, StarVR advanced commercial VR solutions meet the requirements of industries that require precise reproduction of high-resolution modelling, including military simulation training, engineering and architecture and aerospace development design. Professionals and R&D institutions are able to greatly increase operational efficiency and reduce cost via StarVR solutions.

“We are very excited about our collaboration with StarVR. The improvement of VR visual realism covers nearly 100-percent human viewing angle, delivers ultra high-resolution, and eliminates the so-called ‘screen door effect,’” Wei Zhu, general manager of Avic Vision said. “We are providing best-in-class VR solutions with StarVR’s high-resolution VR headset and Avic Vision's high-quality content production.”

StarVR also announced it has joined the Aviation Industry of China Virtual Reality Industry Association and will closely collaborate with all other alliance members to promote technology innovation within the aviation industry.

StarVR becomes the third global corporation to join the alliance, following Microsoft and Dassault Système. Moving forward, StarVR is expected to partner with dozens of aerospace industry partners on VR solutions to continue to optimize virtual design environments for the aviation, national defense, and space technology industries through simulated reality, which can effectively shorten R&D cycles to minimize project cost and risk while maximizing investment efficiency.

The Aviation Industry of China Virtual Reality Industry Association was founded by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China, Ltd., with four divisions, including Technological Research Center, Application Research Center, Innovation and Startup Center, and Financial Service Center. The Application Research Center focuses on the global VR industry technology to promote continuous improvement of VR technology. The Application Research Center also establishes open collaboration platforms, integrating the latest global resources of VR technology. In addition, it offers VR solutions while accelerating industrial application development simultaneously. The technology development can provide integrated strategic purpose and value to the aviation industry, especially for national defense and commercial applications.

“StarVR continues to actively engage with partners in different industries with commercial applications to establish a complete high-end VR supply chain and ecosystem,” said Jerry Kao, vice chairman of StarVR Corporation. “We are optimistic about Avic Vision’s solutions and system integration capabilities in areas such as smart production, military simulation, and commercial applications, and we also see significant VR potential in the aviation industry.”
