RTI CEO to Speak at Fog World Congress 2018

Dr. Stan Schneider to Discuss the Smart Machine Era and How Fog Computing is Merging with Autonomous Systems

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 26, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Real-Time Innovations (RTI), the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) connectivity company, today announced that Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Stan Schneider, will be speaking at the OpenFog Consortium’s second annual Fog World Congress discussing autonomous systems and fog computing. RTI joined the OpenFog Consortium in 2016, and Dr. Schneider serves as a chair on the conference’s keynote committee.

On the second day of the conference, Schneider will lead a session titled, “Accelerating Autonomy with Fog Computing.” This session will examine how the advancement in computing power and networking will transform every industry. Individual smart devices will merge into fog-computing autonomous systems that must work as decoupled applications, but still intimately share information. Schneider will discuss the new “data-centric” fog architectures that balance these demands, thus accelerating autonomous design. The presentation will also highlight autonomy applications across several industries, from energy microgrids to connected medical devices to autonomous vehicles.

Fog World Congress, now in its second year, is a three-day, multitrack conference that will take place Oct. 1-3, 2018 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport in Burlingame, Calif. Fog World Congress is the first conference that brings industry research together to explore the technologies, challenges, industry deployments and opportunities in fog computing and networking. Attendees will gain insight and practical how-to’s to help understand, plan and deploy fog computing and networking, the enabler for IoT, 5G and embedded AI. Conference goers will also have the chance to see the latest industry applications and new business models covering robotics, drones, autonomous vehicles, smart factories and smart cities.

In addition to Schneider’s presentation, RTI’s Senior Director of Market Development for the Industrial IoT, Brett Murphy, will be presenting a tutorial, "Fog Computing Communication, Core Connectivity Standards" on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. PT. RTI will also be located in the exhibitor area at kiosk “A”.
