Bandits wrap up 2018 at Elko Speedway in Minnesota

Points title, other awards up for grabs in season finale

Blooming Prairie MN, Oct. 05, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- There’s no shortage of excitement as the Minimizer Bandit Big Rig Series gets set for its season finale at Elko Speedway Oct. 13th.

The Biodiesel Clean Air Clash for the Crown will determine several awards, including the 2018 points champion.

“It’s going to be intense,” Bandit General Manager Jason Johnson said.  “None of these guys like to lose, and with $50,000 on the line, I’m sure we’ll be seeing fireworks – both in the air and on the track.”

Fans can join the Bandits themselves at the season awards party in the Champions Club following the race.

Currently, Ricky Rude occupies the top spot in the point standings, but several Bandits are close behind.

“Ricky’s in the driver’s seat, but he hasn’t wrapped it up yet,” Johnson said.

Dave Sparks, aka Heavy D from Discovery’s Diesel Brothers, will once again pilot the #51 truck, just as he did at Elko back in August.

“I’ve driven a lot of cool vehicles, raced in a lot of very competitive races, but this is unlike anything I’ve ever done,” Heavy D said.

Fans can see Indomitus, the Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council’s giant Ford 6x6, on display at Elko, too.  And the Minimizer Fan Series Truck Show goes on throughout the day.

“It’s shaping up to be one heck of a season finale,” Johnson said.  “Fans better get their tickets now because we’ve already sold out several suites and general admission tickets are going fast.”

Fans can purchase tickets online at www.banditseries.com.
