RICHMOND, British Columbia, Oct. 15, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sage, a global technology business and Premier Partner of the Invictus Games Sydney 2018, today announces the launch of the Sage Power 50 – a unique showcase of 50 leading veteran run or owned businesses from across Australia, UK, US, and Canada.
Nominated for their leadership and determination to succeed, the Sage Power 50 is a unique collection of testimony from veteran entrepreneurs on how they built their business against the odds. Launched in the run up to the Invictus Games Sydney 2018, Sage believe that these compelling stories will educate the business community and inspire the next generation of veteran business leaders.
Over the next five years, one million service members will transition out of just the U.S military alone; with one in four wanting to start their own business. The Sage Power 50 reveals the challenges, sacrifices and tough decisions that will underpin the transition into business for many veterans; as well as the advice and insight that helps to reshape service honed skills into the world of entrepreneurship.

Sage Power 50 members were nominated by leading military nonprofits in countries who have hosted the Invictus Games; the UK, USA and Canada, alongside this year’s host – Australia.
In Canada, Sage Foundation non-profit partner Princes Trust Canada supported the Power 50. Sharon Broughton, CEO of Prince’s Trust Canada said: “We are thrilled to have graduates from our Prince’s Operation Entrepreneur program showcased in Sage Power 50. It is a perfect opportunity to highlight their resilience, determination and achievements as they leave the military and become successful entrepreneurs.”
2018 will mark the third year of Sage’s partnership with the Invictus Games. A signatory of the UK’s Armed Forces Covenant and recognised as one of just 50 organisations in 2018 to be given the ‘Gold Award’ for their outstanding support of the Armed Forces; Sage is already delivering the Sage Military Mentoring Programme in the UK.
Sage will now build a legacy for after the Invictus Games Sydney 2018, by working with nonprofit, Soldier On. Sage Foundation funding and workshops in HR and entrepreneurialism will result in more veterans, service personnel and their families getting the support they need to start their own business or develop entrepreneurial skills.
Sage Foundation will also work with Prince’s Trust Australia’s Enterprise for Veteran’s Program, including a roll out of donated Sage software and Cloud Accounting workshops to participants.
