Solar Provider Group to add 2 MW of community solar energy in Minnesota

TORONTO, Oct. 31, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, Solar Provider Group has partnered with Syncarpha Capital, to help bring 2 MW of solar energy to Minnesota. The Community Solar projects are expected to reach commercial operation in December 2018 and will produce green energy for the next 20 years.

The two projects, located in Dodge County, Minnesota were developed under the Solar Rewards Community program. The Community Solar projects will benefit the community in Dodge County, as residents will be able to subscribe to the projects for green, sustainable, and affordable energy.

The community will have the opportunity to subscribe to approximately 5,700 solar modules across two projects within Dodge County. The 2 MW of capacity will be enough to take approximately 250 homes off the grid in Minnesota.

“We started developing community solar in the United States about two years ago and these are the first of many projects we are executing on. Our team here at Solar Provider Group is excited about bringing a lot more community solar online in several other states, and we are thrilled how it lowers power prices and carbon foot print for communities.”  - Sebastian Seyfarth, CEO

Community Solar is an easy, more affordable way to share the benefits of renewable energy by building large solar sites rather than installing solar on individual rooftops. This method gives utility customers the opportunity to participate in the benefits of solar without having to put panels on their homes or properties. Local homes and businesses can benefit by subscribing to a portion of the energy produced to receive net metering credits from a single clean energy project. Community Solar means savings on the electricity bill and a healthier, stronger community.
