First-ever movement and recovery company to endorse a professional football athlete for eSports activation

IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 01, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hyperice Inc., a performance technology company, known for its recovery devices, today announces its partnership with popular video gamer and professional wide receiver, JuJu Smith-Schuster. Through this progressive partnership, Smith-Schuster and Hyperice seek to advance health and wellness within the eSports community, by delivering Hyperice tools, technology and methodology used by the world's most elite athletes.

Hyperice recently made national headlines with the announcement of its New Sports initiative, “Move”, in partnership with Foundry IV, designed to deliver a global health and wellness program for competitive gaming. This program was developed to support the rigorous physical demands of eSports athletes, who have been known to play more than 50 hours a week. These physical demands have led to early retirement for gamers, sometimes as early as age 22.

Smith-Schuster, well-known for both his spectacular playmaking on the football field and his passion for gaming off the field, is the quintessential athlete to connect with young athletes and gamers. Smith-Schuster is a daily competitive gamer and looks to gaming as a way to relax his mind and body, and to recover from the physical and mental aspects of professional football.
“Keeping your body healthy goes far beyond the training room, and Hyperice has been essential in my ability to move and recover more efficiently at home,” said Smith-Schuster. “Given my passion for gaming, I am excited to introduce Hyperice into the gaming community and help the eSports community recognize and learn about the benefits of recovery for these athletes.”

Hyperice, widely-known for award-winning vibration technology utilized in all of professional sports, has seen an exceptional increase in demand from gamers all across the globe, who seek to improve recovery and mobility, many of which are suffering from lower back ailments from sitting or ailments derived from long hours of repetitive motion, such as carpal tunnel, tennis elbow and trigger finger.

“The eSports space has evolved at an incredible rate and has become much more competitive and physically and mentally demanding,” said Jim Huether, CEO of Hyperice. “Much like traditional sports, gamers' health should be a top priority. If we can improve and maintain gamers’ health, we can improve their performance and longevity. JuJu is a one-of-a-kind elite athlete and passionate gamer who understands the importance of taking care of his body in all aspects of his life.”
