Olenick Test Planning and Execution Expertise Contributes to Success of PSECU Banking System Upgrade

CHICAGO and HARRISBURG, Pa. , Nov. 05, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Olenick, a global leader in software quality engineering, and PSECU, Pennsylvania’s largest credit union, recently partnered to plan and execute extensive functional testing as part of a banking system upgrade conducted by the credit union. PSECU was able to successfully complete the project as scheduled over Labor Day weekend, in part due to the collaboration and assistance Olenick provided.

“Our vision at PSECU is to serve as a trusted financial partner for our more than 450,000 members,” said PSECU President Greg Smith. “Our banking system upgrade was a major undertaking – one that we took very seriously because our members’ financial well-being depended on it being implemented accurately and with very little disruption to service. For this reason, we made sure to pick only the best partners to work with us. In terms of testing, we had extremely high expectations. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results Olenick delivered.”

Olenick's 14 years of credit union quality assurance and testing experience made it a natural selection for PSECU. Its partnership with the credit union included authoring test scripts, executing the test suite, identifying defects, and offering insight on performance testing including stress testing. Olenick’s unique delivery capabilities allowed it to provide virtual and onsite support throughout the project, including several mock upgrades that PSECU executed before the launch of its new banking system.

“Quality assurance is essential for successful software projects, and when done well, credit unions like PSECU experience smoother deployments,” said Olenick Founder and President, Tom Olenick. “With every point of integration there is a risk for errors.  Well planned and executed testing greatly mitigates those risks and reduces the pain often associated with large software initiatives. The client’s project team can focus more time serving their members and optimizing their new technology. PSECU shared this belief and was an excellent partner throughout the process.”

“We’re proud of our recent banking system upgrade and know that it will be a solid foundation on which we can continue to build further enhancements for our members’ benefit,” added Greg Smith. “We thank Olenick for their help making it a success.”
