SAN RAMON, Calif., Feb. 05, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Armanino LLP, one of the top 25 largest accounting and business consulting firms in the U.S., today announced two new partners joined the firm. Alex Thacher will lead the firm’s state and local tax (SALT) practice, and Peter Klinger will join as the firm’s compensation and benefits tax specialist.

Alex joins as leader of the firm’s SALT practice, primarily focused on SALT consulting, as well as tax planning and controversy. He has more than 17 years experience in income and franchise tax, sales/use tax, local taxes, and credits and incentives.  Prior to joining Armanino, Alex led Ernst & Young’s Seattle global indirect and state tax services group and served in various roles at Deloitte and PwC. Alex received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Boston College and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Connecticut, School of Law.

Peter has more than 25 years of experience in the compensation and benefits arena, with areas of focus including accounting, income tax and overall benefit plan design. He consults with businesses on issues ranging froms reviewing W-2 forms and fringe benefits to equity compensation and creating 401(k) plans. Before joining Armanino, Peter was a partner at BDO in its benefits and compensation group and held positions at Ernst & Young and Circle Consulting Group. Peter received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami.
