Dublin, Feb. 08, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The "Liquid Biopsies 2019" conference has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com's offering.

Liquid Biopsies 2019 focuses primarily on biofluid-based molecular biomarkers, such as circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) as well as circulating tumor cells (CTCs), and protein-based circulating biomarkers. There is much interest in the potential of ctDNA for developing biological fluid-based biopsies (such as using plasma, urine, or other biofluids) and the presenters in this track bring together the most up-to-date information and current state-of-the-field.

The conference further explores the potential of various minimally-invasive circulating biomarker classes, such as circulating-free DNA (cfDNA), CTCs, and Extracellular Vesicles (EVs), for development of novel diagnostics for early disease screening, patient monitoring, and minimal residual disease detection.

  • We identified an HCC-specific methylation marker by comparing HCC tissue and normal blood leukocytes and showed that methylation profiles of HCC tumor DNA and matched plasma ctDNA are highly correlated. We constructed a diagnostic prediction model with high diagnostic specificity and sensitivity and was highly correlated with tumor burden, treatment response, and stage. Additionally, we constructed a prognostic prediction model that effectively predicted prognosis and survival.
