TSAHC Recognizes Top Loan Officers and Mortgage Companies for their Commitment to Texas Home Buyers

Austin, Feb. 19, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation (TSAHC) helped 9,425 Texas families purchase a home in 2018 thanks to partnerships with a network of dedicated mortgage companies and loan officers. TSAHC’s home buyer programs, known as the Homes for Texas Heroes and Home Sweet Texas Home Loan Programs, provide fixed-rate mortgage loans, down payment assistance, and federal mortgage interest tax credits that can make purchasing a home more affordable for low and moderate-income families.

In total, TSAHC provided more than $1.4 billion in mortgage loans and $54 million in down payment assistance to home buyers in 2018.  Additionally, 2,324 of the 9,425 families assisted were able to access a federal tax credit specifically for first-time buyers that saves them up to $2,000 each year on their income taxes.
