Witt O’Brien’s Welcomes New Managing Director to Expand Crisis Communications

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 04, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --  Witt O’Brien’s, LLC (Witt O’Brien’s), a subsidiary of SEACOR Holdings Inc. (NYSE: CKH) announced today that Sean Fitzgerald has joined the firm to expand its crisis communications services.

Fitzgerald brings over 20 years’ experience providing strategic communications counsel and support to Fortune 500 firms, and other international corporations. This includes the assessment of companies’ crisis-preparedness and reputation vulnerabilities; creation of effective crisis communications plans and response protocols; leadership training and exercises; and on-site, real-time communications support for companies in crisis.

Fitzgerald’s career includes over 17 years with Ketchum, one of the world’s leading public relations and communications agencies. There he led dynamic growth in a variety of roles, including Global Partner – Corporate/Public Affairs Practice for North America; President of the firm’s Greater China region; and leader of Western USA operations.

Fitzgerald’s earlier experience includes in-house leadership of global communications, including crisis communications and reputation management, at Mattel and Levi Strauss.

“I’m delighted to be joining the global leader in crisis management,” said Fitzgerald. “Corporate executives, boards and governments face a dramatic increase in potential business disruptions, both natural and man-made. Robust communications are a critical ingredient in pre-event preparedness, as well as crisis response and recovery. Combining these skills with Witt O’Brien’s proven capabilities in operational crisis response and preparation will create a truly differentiated service for both corporate and public sector clients.”

“We pride ourselves on knowing the nuts and bolts of crisis management, but also thinking outside the box to create effective resilience and recovery programs that are tailored to an organization’s culture and operations,” added Grace Burley, Managing Director and leader of the firm’s corporate resilience solutions. “Sean shares this philosophy and has successfully managed crisis communications across multiple sectors and geographies.”

“We are thrilled to have Sean join our internationally recognized team,” said Tim Whipple, CEO of Witt O’Brien’s. “He adds valuable expertise to our ability to stand with our clients when and where it counts – in preparing for disruption, but also in the crucial first hours and days of managing a live crisis.”
