GENEVA, March 05, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- A landmark occasion in electric car design and performance was celebrated in Geneva when Automobili Pininfarina CEO, Michael Perschke, Mahindra & Mahindra Chairman, Anand Mahindra and Pininfarina SpA Chairman, Paolo Pininfarina, unveiled the Pininfarina Battista, a pure-electric luxury hyper GT.
Pininfarina presented the Battista in three distinct design specifications and colours - a Blu Iconica Battista featuring the Iconica by Automobili Pininfarina design pack, a Grigio Luserna satin grey car with satin blue accents and anodized aluminum detailing, and a third Battista in a pure pearlescent white called Bianco Sestriere.
The Battista will be the most powerful road car ever designed and built in Italy when it arrives in Canada in 2020. Faster than a current Formula 1 race car in its 0-100 km/h sub-two second sprint thanks to 1,900 hp and 2,300 Nm torque, it also has a potential 450-kilometre range. The Battista will combine extreme engineering and technology in a beautiful, and beautifully-engineered, zero emissions package.
Not only does the Battista redefine electric vehicle dynamics in a Pininfarina-badged car, but it is also extremely exclusive and collectible – only 150 will ever be built, all delivered to their owners through a global network of the world’s most respected luxury and performance car retailers. Following on from their unveiling tonight, March 4th, the three all-electric Battistas will receive their public world premieres on the Automobili Pininfarina and Pininfarina SpA stands at the Geneva International Motor Show that runs from March 5th to March 17th before going on a world tour.
