Walden Security Receives Training Top 125 for Second Consecutive Year

The Walden Way Selected as a Top 5 Best Practice by Training magazine

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn., March 19, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In recognition of its innovative employee training and development programs, including The Walden Way orientation program, Walden Security has been recognized as a Training magazine Training Top 125 company for the second consecutive year.

Training magazine’s Training Top 125 list recognizes organizations that champion training and employee development tied to corporate strategic goals and business impact.

Walden Security, the nation’s largest privately held, woman-owned contract security firm, provides more than 500,000 hours of training per year to employees, including the company’s pool of 4,950 security officers.

Walden moved up from #121 spot to #54 this year, while The Walden Way, the company’s three-day orientation and training program, was recognized as one of only five best practices.

All branch and corporate staff, from receptionists to executives, gather at Walden’s Chattanooga, TN, headquarters for the three-day immersive program where leaders from business operations, sales and marketing, human resources, learning and development, and other divisions conduct instructor-led training sessions.

“By investing in our employees’ training and development, we retain a strong workforce that is engaged and able to grow their careers, while delivering outstanding security service to our customers,” says Michael S. Walden, CPP, president of Walden Security. “The Walden Way sets everyone on a path to success right out of the gate, learning first-hand about our company’s history, culture, values and how we work, and more importantly, how to support each other and our most important internal customer – security officers – and external clients,” he adds.

Walden Security attributes its training programs to several business outcomes, among them, improving employee retention and operational efficiencies, including lowering over time, a huge cost concern in the security industry. Training programs also have saved lives: Walden Security credits its officers certified to administer CPR/AED & First Aid with saving nearly 30 lives to date.
