New York, March 25, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Thasos, an alternative data intelligence firm that transforms real-time locations from mobile phones into objective and actionable insights, today announced that Chris Metaxas has joined as Chief Revenue Officer.

Metaxas joins Thasos from Digital Recognition Network (DRN), a location data and analytics company, where he served as Chief Executive Officer for six and a half years. At DRN, he grew revenues, created new markets and led the organization until its acquisition by Motorola for $445 million in 2019.

Before DRN, he was a Senior Vice President of Sales at LexisNexis, leading a $100+ million business in the data and analytics market. Prior to that, Metaxas served as President and CEO of MetaPartners LLC where he built an $80 million B2B mobility ecosystem for Westcon Group. Earlier in his career, he was one of the founders of Con Edison Communications, a Metro Optical Communications company and wholly owned subsidiary of Consolidated Edison of New York.

Metaxas comes on board as Thasos continues to build upon its impressive growth in 2018 and 2019. Recent milestones include a new office in New York’s tech-focused Union Square neighborhood and the addition of almost 20 new team members.

The announcement follows Thasos’ newly launched partnerships with Bloomberg and FactSet. As one of the first alternative data providers available on such platforms, these and other soon-to-be-announced strategic partnerships demonstrate Thasos’ leadership in the geolocation data sector and make it even easier for customers to get started with extracting value from alternative data.

“Thasos has evolved since its inception in 2011 to become the industry’s leading alternative data intelligence company in geolocation,” said Greg Skibiski, Thasos Founder and CEO. “As we continue the momentum from our recent partnerships, we are thrilled to have an innovative leader like Chris join our growing team to help take us to the next level.”

Metaxas added: “Thasos sits at the intersection of data, technology and finance, and it’s exciting to join a team that generates innovative and actionable intelligence for investors and companies. Thasos’ expertise and demonstrated growth potential are just two of the reasons why I am excited to come aboard.”
