SPARK The Energy Credit Union welcomes two new vice presidents to lead growth and improve member experience for Alberta’s energy workers and their families

CALGARY, Alberta, April 01, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SPARK The Energy Credit Union (“SPARK”) welcomed two new vice presidents to its leadership team today as part of the organization’s continued transformation to a full-service, open bond credit union dedicated exclusively to serving the needs of Alberta’s energy workers and their families.

Alison Archambault will serve as the organization’s new Vice President - Brand & Growth while Steve Dunn has been hired as the new Vice President - Member Experience. Both positions are new to the financial institution, which also recently announced that its General Manager, Badriea Taha, has had her role elevated to President & CEO.

“We are bolstering our leadership team with these new positions to give our financial institution the strategic horsepower and experience needed to achieve our ambitious growth objectives, while continuing to improve on the exceptional service levels we have become known for amongst our members,” said Board Chair, Adam Battistessa. These changes also bring SPARK’s leadership structure in line with other credit unions and financial institutions.

As SPARK’s new Vice President of Brand and Growth, Ms. Archambault will be responsible for leading SPARK’s business development and marketing teams, ensuring alignment between the credit union’s branding, marketing strategies and business goals. With over 15 years of strategic leadership experience in developing, launching and managing effective branding, marketing, communications, community investment and growth strategies, Ms. Archambault brings significant Alberta credit union system, amalgamation, governance and not-for-profit experience to the role, which will be invaluable in helping SPARK achieve its ambitious expansion plans.

“I’m humbled to be collaborating with the passionate and talented team at SPARK to bring our vibrant strategic vision to life and to help our members achieve their financial goals,” said Archambault. “With the organization’s strategic repositioning, I’m excited about the opportunity to help SPARK serve a broader audience for the first time in its history.”

As SPARK’s new Vice President Member Experience, Steve Dunn will act as ‘Chief Member Advocate’, bringing member needs and priorities to the executive table. He brings decades of financial industry-specific experience in technology, client services, and business transformation. Mr. Dunn will be responsible for the development of member and technology strategy to drive operational efficiencies and increase SPARK’s share of market.

“I look forward to applying my extensive experience at the credit union system level to improve the experience for SPARK members,” said Dunn. “SPARK is well positioned to serve the financial needs of Alberta’s energy workers and my goal is to help the organization to create the best experience possible for this important part of Alberta’s population.”
