Legum & Norman Managed Community Wins Community of the Year Award

Falls Church, VA, April 04, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Legum & Norman, an Associa company, managed community, Longfellow Condominium Unit Homeowners Association, wins Community of the Year Award in the small community category from the Community Associations Institute (CAI) - Washington Metropolitan Chapter.

The Community of the Year Award recognizes communities that best represent common-interest community living, excel in two-way communications with residents, and think of others beyond the community’s borders. The CAI Washington Metropolitan chapter is the largest of CAI’s 62 U.S. and international chapters with more than 3,000 members who provide products and services to community associations.

Longfellow Condominium Unit Homeowners Association is an active enclave of 66 units located in Northwest, DC, in a vibrant and historic neighborhood. The community is conveniently located among shops, parks, and near the famous Georgia Avenue.

“Having a strong management team and partnership has been a key component in aligning our practices to receive the esteemed award,” stated Janai Walters, member of Longfellow Condominiums’ board of directors. “The community is proud and thankful to all of our volunteers and boards, present and past, for the foundation we have leveraged as we strive to become the jewel of Longfellow Street.”

“Legum & Norman is immensely proud that the Longfellow Condominium Association was recognized by CAI for demonstrating excellence in all facets of association operations and governance,” stated Hilary Lape, Legum & Norman executive vice president. “The volunteer board, led by Janai Walters, president and Hazina Sharpe, vice president, has worked extremely hard over the past several years to implement improvements and preserve the harmonious environment for the residents. Their consistent leadership and unwavering commitment are very honorable and are why Longfellow is the best place to live for its residents.”

“I am delighted to express my congratulations to the Longfellow Condominiums on this well-deserved recognition,” said Brandon Todd, Ward 4 councilmember and Longfellow’s representative on the DC Council. “This award serves as a fitting acknowledgment of the Longfellow Condominium’s and their partners’ incredible efforts to foster community, ensure that the voices of all are heard, and that collective action benefits the broader community.”
