Pica8 Partners with Real-Life Pikas, Will Select 100 “Adopt-a-Pika” Contest Winners at Dell Technologies World; Company will also Launch its new Mascot, Pika Ocho

Entrants will Help Fund National Wildlife Federation’s Pika Habitat Program

PALO ALTO, Calif., April 16, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Pica8, a leading provider of automated open networking software for enterprise campus and access networks, today announced that as part of its new corporate donation initiative that it will be raffling off 100 “adoptions” of real-life North American pikas through the National Wildlife Federation’s Adopt-a-Pika program during Dell Technologies World 2019 in Las Vegas.

Should their entries be drawn, visitors to the Pica8 booth #941 at Dell Technologies World will be registered by Pica8 as adopters of an endangered North American pika and will each receive, by mail, a pika adoption certificate in their name – the certificate can also be given in a child’s or family member’s name – a stuffed pika plush toy from Conservation Critters, a certificate showing that a tree has been planted in their name by the NWF, and a 2019 National Wildlife Federation wall calendar.

“While Pica8 would clearly make the business argument that it’s well past time to trade out old legacy networks for new open networks, it’s also time for us as an industry to advance past clichéd booth drawings for yet-another-Bluetooth speaker that our kids may, or may not, ever use, and move on to socially conscious promotions that actually impact the world in some positive way,” said Jeff Paine, SVP of marketing for Pica8. “After 30 years of organizing convention events, teaming up with the WWF on behalf of our namesake animal spirit at this event made all the sense in the world.”

Inspired by the Adopt-a-Pika program, Pica8’s new cartoon mascot, Pika Ocho, will also premiere at the Pica8 booth in Las Vegas.

“I’m probably going to regret saying this but, adding our Pika Ocho launch to the Adopt-a-Pika program at Dell Technologies World comes dangerously close to ‘in for a pika, in for a Pica8',” said Paine.
