Governors Proclaim National Window Film Day To Highlight Its Energy Efficiency and Health Benefits

WASHINGTON, April 17, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- National Window Film Day (NWFD) is April 30, and the window film industry is wasting no time promoting it as it gains traction with governors and mayors across the United States, many of whom are issuing proclamations.

In alignment with proclamations issued by governors and mayors across the United States, NWFD is a day dedicated to furthering public education of the many benefits of professionally installed window film including: energy efficiency, indoor temperature comfort, blocking of 99 percent of the sun’s UVA rays, the reduction of glare and the fading of furnishings, and protection from possible harmful exposure to skin and eyes.

“National Window Film Day is a valuable opportunity for families, homeowners, drivers, or any citizen, to learn about this affordable and beneficial improvement,” said John Parker, President of the IWFA. “We’re proud to consistently support National Window Film Day and we encourage our members and the industry as a whole to participate as well.”

NWFD highlights the many benefits of window film and emphasizes how professionally installed window film is a good choice for the environment over replacing older windows entirely. A professional installation of window film saves on heating and cooling costs and may also be eligible for green energy rebates.

Window films, when professionally installed on structurally sound single or double-pane windows, may reduce energy consumption by as much as 30 percent, while the installation cost may be 91.5 percent less than the cost of adding new windows.

“From increased energy efficiency to the reduction of 99 percent of UV rays, professionally installed window film offers an affordable improvement that saves money and the environment,” said Darrell Smith, Executive Director, IWFA. “We are very happy to see the growing support of National Window Film Day and the window film industry from our nation’s officials.”
