ALISO VIEJO, Calif., April 24, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Veracity Industrial Networks, a developer of Industrial SDN-based technology for operational networks, announced the addition of Eric Byres to the team. Byres is a recognized expert in the field of SCADA/ICS and IIoT security and is very experienced in controls engineering, security research and corporate management.
Byres is best known for inventing and successfully commercializing the Tofino Firewall, the world’s most widely deployed ICS security appliance. He has received numerous awards for his research and his work on ISA and IEC committees for industrial security standards.

Before starting Tofino, Eric founded the British Columbia Institute of Technology’s (BCIT) Critical Infrastructure Security Centre. He shaped it into a leading academic facility in the field of SCADA security, culminating in a SANS Institute Security Leadership Award in 2006.
