Dean & DeLuca has been a beloved institution since opening their doors to their first grocery store in 1977 in Soho, NYC. When approaching their first new concept space in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, they wanted to continue their relentless and inventive exploration of culinary innovation with this chef-led concept with food, design and architecture at its core. “InterServ assembled a great team to expertly deliver Buro Ole Scheeren’s world-class design for Dean & DeLuca. InterServ were engaged as management consultants in May 2018 to spearhead the design implementation, procurement and construction elements of this flagship concept space, as well as future store roll outs. InterServ’s Principal, Eli Tene and Joshua Boyle, President of Western Region, spoke of the excitement surrounding this ground-breaking project saying, “This is the first new design the brand has seen in more than a decade and brings an entirely new and innovative concept to the New York food and beverage scene. The result is a stunning, award-winning design, and a testament to InterServ’s process and collaboration with Buro Ole Scheeren and Dean & DeLuca.
The design centers on a freestanding stage that people can congregate around, meet and watch the preparation of the food itself. Dean & DeLuca’s new concept store launched in April 2019.
